Bio
Welcome Back!!

My name is Mrs. Howze. I am your child’s language arts teacher. I’ve spoken with some of you already and will be speaking with others soon. I take pride in getting to know the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the students that I teach. I am looking forward to a successful year.

I was raised in Saraland, Alabama. I attended Saraland Elementary School, Adams Middle School, and I graduated from Satsuma High School. I received my Bachelor Degree in Sociology/Psychology from the University of Mobile and a Master Degree in English Education from the University of Mobile. I am number ten of eleven children. My parents are the late Reverend Robert King, Sr. and Mrs. Mary King. I have been married for twenty-two years to my husband, Elder Terrence Howze, Sr. We have four children. Takiyah is sixteen years old. Terrence is twelve years old. Trinity is nine years old, and Trevor is five years old. I have been teaching for eighteen years. I’ve taught at Mae Eanes Middle School, Adams Middle School, and North Mobile Middle School. This is my eighth year at Leflore High School.

I welcome you to call and check on your child’s progress in my class. You may also contact me via email (lhowze@mcpss.com). If you or your child has any problems with my class throughout the school year, please feel free to contact me. I will contact you if I have any questions, problems, or praise that I feel you need to be informed of. Thank you for entrusting your child to me to be educated. I will treat your child with the respect that I desire my own children to receive.

Attached you will find the syllabus and a quarterly EQT Guide for language arts. Please look over this sheet. These objectives will be tested on the end of the quarter exam. I look forward to working together with you for success of your child.
